Hi! I’m Tina
Based in Austin. Available Worldwide
Originally from a small farming town in Western Kansas, I was styling food before I knew it was a job. Once I discovered that food styling was actually a career, the clouds parted, angels sang and the sky became very blue.
I attended the University of Kansas where I got a degree in Art History. After dabbling a bit in grad school, I started a catering business. After years of throwing over the top dinner parties and my friends constantly saying “you should open a catering business!”, I did just that. I catered until the glorious day in 2005 when a food stying opportunity was presented to me by Hallmark in Kansas City. See above about clouds parting and angels singing. At Hallmark, I learned the pure joy of making food with faces and how to make pot pies in 200 year old antiques.
That was over 20 years ago. In that time, I’ve made giant sandwiches for moving billboards in Time Square, Super Bowl commercials and loads of beautiful food for magazines and cookbooks. I’ve made cheese pull and soda splash. One time I made a lasagna that bubbled (intentionally) for 7 minutes. True story.
Along the way, I’ve made lots of super pro friends who have taught me what they know and I’ve fed them safe food that isn’t contaminated by my tricky food stylist ways. But for the most part, it’s all safe. Maybe just not tasty. My favorite part of the job is my office is a kitchen and a set. I love having a foot in both worlds.
Let’s be friends! I love collaborating and being a part of the process. From the beginning to the end, or just where you need me.
